How can we best support your wellbeing?

Wellbeing survey ImageWhether you have accessed support services or not, take our 2022-23 Wellbeing Survey and let us know how we can help you during your time at UoB.

We know the topic of Mental Health and Wellbeing is close to your heart, as well as ours. So we can better support your wellbeing during your time here at UoB, we’d like to get your honest and open feedback on what you think we’re doing well and what we can do to improve your student experience and the services and support available.

The Student Wellbeing Survey is open to all students at all study levels, whether you have accessed support services or not.

Take the survey now and make your voice heard.

All responses will be completely anonymous and should take a maximum of 8-10 minutes to complete.

The survey closes at midnight on Friday 16 June 2023.

Your feedback

Your feedback really does make a difference. Last year through our Wellbeing Survey, you told us that you’d like to see some improvements to the services and support while you study with us.

Here are some of the things we’ve responded to:

  • Pause@UoBThanks to your feedback we were able to continue our Pause service (our internationally unique programme run in partnership with the Children’s Society and Forward Thinking Birmingham)
  • UBHeard - our confidential listening and support service for all students – you said you wanted to keep instant access to our mental health support 24/7. We now offer a 365 mental health helpline giving you access to resources, wellbeing courses and podcasts via the UBHeard portal
  • Extensions & Extenuating Circumstances – your feedback supported the updating of guidance and processes for 2022/23 academic year
  • Support for Postgraduate Researchers  – we created our new Wellbeing webpages, providing clarity of our service offer for all PGRs
  • Male Mental Health – we have developed male mental health specific support groups via our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team
  • Representation – we are proud of our diverse student and staff community and have focussed on increased representation within services and in promotion

You can learn more about our mental health and wellbeing support on services on the Student Wellbeing pages.
