It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The University’s official closed days are Monday 23 December 2024 to Wednesday 1 January 2025. Some of our facilities are still open so check the opening times of the Main Library, campus food outlets, buildings and more on the Christmas opening times webpage.

You can also find lots to do both on campus and in Birmingham if you’re staying in accommodation over the Christmas period. There are also lots of accommodation-specific events: check out the full list.

We're here for you

Christmas is an exciting and fun time for many of you, especially if you go back home and connect with family and friends, but it’s okay if you’re struggling. We know it can be a difficult time of year, particularly if you’re away from home during the festive period.

You’re not alone during this time. Throughout the Christmas break, UBHeard is available 24/7 for free, confidential support. You can also call Samaritans on 116 123 if you need someone to listen. On Saturday 21 December, the longest night of the year, Old Joe will be lighting up green for Samaritans. This is a reminder that Samaritans are still there to support you even on the longest night.

If you're staying on campus over the Christmas break, you can get in touch with other students through UniBuddy. Join the Christmas on Campus 2024 community.
