World Mental Health Day 2024

Our Wellbeing Officers in each School are here to listen to your concerns and provide early first line support. Watch this video to find out how they can help.

Every year, we join organisations and communities around the world to celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10 October.

Not only is it a day to raise awareness but it’s also a chance to have open conversations around how we’re feeling and how to get help without feeling ashamed.

Free all-year round support for students

The start of a new academic year can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming.

Although change is an inevitable part of life, some people find dealing with change hard.

Whether you’ve started a new placement, are navigating new friendships, adjusting to a new living space, or trying to balance your studies alongside a social life and a job, you might find yourself feeling down or stressed.

Whatever you’re feeling or going through, you're not alone.

It's okay to seek help and to talk about your feelings. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Bookmark our Time to Talk? intranet page which lists the University's and Guild's full range of Mental Health and Wellbeing support including UB Heard, Pause at UoB and Wellbeing Officers.

You'll also find our student blogs which cover a wide range of issues and perspectives, as well as our new Student Support booklet.
