Can I make an appointment to register at the police station?
All students need to register in person on arrival in the UK. In addition, if you are currently already in the UK and it is a requirement of your visa that you must report to the police, you must report the following changes in circumstances to the police within 7 days:
- If you change your address
- If you extend your visa
- If you get a new passport
- If you change your university or course
- If your marital status changes while you are in the UK
- If you change your visa type (i.e. switch to any other category such as work permit holder)
- If you are moving from the West Midlands area but staying in the UK
- If you stay away from your UK address for 2 months or more
If you are unable to get an appointment with the police on campus you must visit the police station in person. Students living in the West Midlands should go to Digbeth Police Station and students living in Warwickshire (e.g. students from the Shakespeare Institute) should go to Warwickshire Police.
In order to register with the police you must make a prior appointment to attend the police station. If you do not have an appointment you will not be seen by the police.
You must take your decision letter with you when you attend your appointment. Failure to bring this document will result in you being unable to register with the police.

The police are currently experiencing problems with their registration system, which means students cannot register or book an appointment. The police are aware of this, and you will not get into trouble or face any legal issues. For now the 7 day rule does not apply.
