About us

The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) is responsible for generating opportunities for alumni (former students) to stay involved with the University and encourage philanthropic support for charitable projects across campus.

DARO is comprised of four main areas: Supporter Engagement, Development, Supporter Insight and the Administration team.

Supporter Engagement

The Supporter Engagement (SE) team organises events and volunteering opportunities, thanks our supporters and provides communications to keep our alumni engaged and connected with the University. 

Additionally, College Alumni Relations staff implement alumni relations programmes specifically tailored to address each College’s needs.

Development

The Development team comprises of Regular Giving and Major Gifts programmes that aim to encourage individuals, alumni and trusts and foundations to support the University through philanthropy, most recently through the Circles of Influence fundraising campaign. The campaign transformed campus, funded research with global impact and gave students life-changing opportunities. The Development team are now currently working on fundraising projects addressing society’s biggest issues.

The Regular Giving team is responsible for our student calling team, legacies and community fundraising.

Supporter Insight

The Supporter Insight (SI) team is responsible for identifying, managing and creatively applying data to support DARO, Business Engagement (BE), and the wider University. The team undertakes tasks such as new audience development, gift accounting, and information security compliance as part of a commitment to effectively recording and enhancing our supporter information.

Administration team

The administration team provides high quality personal assistant support to the Leadership team, and administration services to the wider DARO office
