Meet the Team

The B-Enterprising team is made up of specialist staff who work together to ensure that all students have the opportunity to become enterprising whilst at Birmingham, so that they can achieve success in any career.  The team works across 3 main areas; curricular, extra-curricular and Start-Up.

Job title: Deputy Director External Engagement

Key role: Responsible for external engagement for Careers Network. Overall responsibility for the management of work experience, internship programmes, mentoring, bursaries, enterprise and entrepreneurship and employer relations. Currently also supporting Birmingham's strand on a national project with HEFCE.

Job title: Assistant Director (Innovation)

Key role: Alison’s responsibilities lie in championing enterprise. She builds strategic partnerships with SMEs, local community groups and students to deliver innovative work that aims to benefit all parties and support our region's priorities.

Job title: Business Start-Up Manager

Key role: Mohammed is the University of Birmingham Business Start-Up manager. He manages the B Start-Up programme, delivers enterprise and entrepreneurial workshops and offers advice to students looking to start a business.

Roshni Barot

Job title: Work Integrated and Learning Advisor

Key role: Roshni is the specialist point of reference and contact for work-based learning. She works across all five colleges to advise colleagues how to embed work-based learning into the curriculum, and promotes best practice for work-based learning activity that is currently being implemented.
