Ronjon Nag Entrepreneurship Competition

University of Birmingham alumnus, Ronjon Nag (Electrical Engineering 1984) has created a £5,000 prize for a student tech project or business idea with the strongest commercial potential.

Ronjon Nag is an expert in AI, biotech and wireless communications, and is passionate about supporting innovative ideas that could become real business opportunities. Through this competition he wants to help your ideas come to life.

You can enter an early stage start-up idea or project that you have completed as an undergraduate final year project, MSc individual project or PhD project. The key criteria for submissions are that projects involve technology, but e-commerce ideas are also welcome.

Team entries are allowed, and you must obtain permission from your supervisor before making an application. For example, previous finalist projects included a Cyclist road condition monitor and EczemaDoc, an app designed to track and help treat Eczema.

To be in with a chance to pitch to Ronjon and other alumni entrepreneurs there is a two-step process:

  • Complete an online application form by Friday 4 June 2021.
  • Finalists will be announced later that week and if successful you will be invited to pitch to Ronjon and an alumni panel on Wednesday 16 June 2021.

Submit your application on the Ronjon Nag Entrepreneurship Competition webpage
