Question:
What cover do I have when I go abroad on University business?
Answer:

The University has a business travel policy which covers staff and students travelling abroad on University business.  Please be aware that trips must be risk assessed and signed off before travel cover can be booked.  The cover includes personal accident, death, loss of limbs, sight etc, emergency medical & dental treatment, baggage, cash, cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and legal expenses all with pre-determined limits.

Please note that as from renewal in August 2020 cancellation and curtailment costs linked to Covid-19 are no longer covered.  From the same date the standard deductible changed to £50 and cover for loss or damage to mobile phones is now excluded.  The policy does not cover sporting activities, and other dangerous activities such as quad biking, paragliding etc.

Please read our summary of cover for further details.
