As Director of Catering Nic has overall responsibility for all catering services on campus ensuring we are delivering a fresh quality product and first class service experience to our staff, students and visitors on a daily basis. This incorporates a wide range of services from vending machines to coffee shops, on-site restaurants, event dining, functions, students meals and licensed bar operations.

I am the Hospitality Manager for Catering within HAS and my area of responsibility include Staff House, which includes a fine dining restaurant, conference rooms, self-service restaurant, coffee lounge and a bar.
I also look after Fresh Thinking which is a delivered catering service to anyone around campus both internal or external customers delivering a range of product from tea / coffee for 10 people up to buffets for 2000 people or large formal dinners in the Great Hall up to 450 people.
I also look after branded coffee outlets, Starbucks in Muirhead Tower, Costa Coffee in the Bramall Music Auditorium Foyer, the coffee / bar in the Munrow Sports Centre plus any bars on the main University Campus.
Jointly responsible for the overall running of the Conference Park, including: reception, housekeeping, maintenance, and conference facilitation also: facilities management in liaison with Estates, Grounds, H&S.

Louise Sherratt is the Catering Operations Manager for campus responsible for 19 catering outlets across campus.
These include large catering facilities at the Medical School and University Centre, Go Central, Go Mex,Café Go offering a large range of hot food from 8.00am – 6.00pm during term time. Other areas are the Costa store in University Centre and coffee shop environments located all over campus based in the Library , Business School, Biosciences, Physics and several other colleges.
Louise also manages the 90 vending machines on campus and the stores department.

Mark has overall responsibility for all food production across the university and oversees all food purchasing and staff management, whilst ensuring the final standards and expected quality of food is achieved in all outlets at all times. Mark assist’s and provides strategic direction in the development of food production and catering services by suggesting ways of improving methods of service and the introduction of catering concepts. Mark provides advice and guidance to colleagues across the university in matters of hygiene, kitchen planning, menu planning, promotions and kitchen management and is the central point of contact for the university in all aspects of food production management.

Works with colleagues to select appropriate suppliers to ensure the University gets best value for money and complies with public sector procurement legislation. Advises on small print and risk management and holds supplier review meetings with end-users.
