The Fifth Annual BEAR Conference was held on Monday 15th December 2014 in the Civil and Mechanical Engineering building. This event was an exciting opportunity for post-graduate students and early-career researchers to exhibit their computational work to academics, industry professionals, and their peers. Keynote speakers from industry and academia described their experiences of using numerical modelling in their respective fields.The conference provided an opportunity to meet other PhD students and researchers across the university. The conference enabled valuable discussion of the various uses and applications of BlueBEAR and high performance computing in PhD and Post-doctoral research for example, computational fluid dynamics, climate modelling, statistical analysis, computational chemistry and finite element analysis.
