The 5th BEAR User Forum was held on Tuesday 24 November 2009 in G35, Chemical Engineering. The program was:

The afternoon was  given over to 4 individual round-table in-depth discussions between IBM, Clustervision and selected research groups on how the Strategic Partnership between the University and IBM may be of mutual value both to the group and IBM; possible benefits include access to BlueGene supercomputing  technology, emerging Cell processor technology, application optimisation support and involvement in the IBM PhD Fellowship program and Faculty awards. As a result of these discussions IBM will be supporting the research aims of all 4 groups in the most appropriate manner, including code optimisation, access to BlueGene and introducing IBM subject specialists to the project leaders.
