Professor Amon Chizema joins Birmingham Business School

Amon Chizema profile imageAmon Chizema has just joined BBS as Professor of Strategy and Corporate Governance. He is based in the Strategy and International Business Department. Previously he held a Professorship at Loughborough University, where he was also Head of the International Business, Strategy and Innovation Group.

Amon’s research explores corporate governance issues including executive compensation, adoption and diffusion of governance practices across countries and dynamics of the board of directors.  His research has been published in leading journals such as the Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, and Corporate Governance: An International Review. Amon serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Management Studies and Corporate Governance: An International Review. He is also an Associate Editor of the newly established Africa Journal of Management. Speaking about his new role, Amon said: “I am delighted to have joined Birmingham Business School. I look forward to working with colleagues to build on the school’s existing excellence in teaching and in world-leading research with impact”.
