Gem Awards in July

Congratulations to our July GEM Award recipients:

Gemma Bradley, School Hub Assistant, Birmingham Business School, in recognition of the excellent job she has done for the Business School collating information from office socket numbers, matching these with staff details and email addresses, and then inputting the information to a new BBS staff database. The database will be an essential tool for improving the management of office moves and Gemma has made a valuable contribution to its development.

Andy Buck, Undergraduate Management & Marketing Programmes Team Leader, Birmingham Business School (with a wider team drawn from across the College), for all their hard work before, during and after the College end of year party. Their efforts, as members of the Organising Committee, certainly paid off – it was a lovely event thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Miriam Nicholson, Programme Advisor, BSc Accountancy (KPMG Programme), Birmingham Business School, for her outstanding contribution to the recent BSc Accountancy KPMG School Leavers’ programme Applicant Visit Day. Miriam took total ownership of the project management of the day, including liaising with KPMG, applicants, their families and current students here on the Programme. She scheduled the entire day, monitored attendees and manned the reception desk, in addition to organising refreshments and lunch, briefing current students regarding Campus tours and organising student talks. The success of the day was commented on specifically by many parents and applicants and this was due in no small part to Miriam’s efforts.
