Exam Paper-Setting - We Did It!

On behalf of the Undergraduate Team, I wanted to express a huge thanks to everyone involved in the exam paper-setting process over the past few weeks.

It is always a bit of a logistical challenge to ensure our many exam papers are submitted to the Programmes Office on time for our early March deadline, and I’m very pleased to report that out of 111 UG papers 90% were submitted on time for the 1st March deadline, which is fantastic!  We had 12 that were outstanding as of 1st March, and I know that both Faculty and UG programme team colleagues worked very closely together, communicating regularly and putting in any necessary contingencies, to try to expedite receipt of the remaining exam papers as quickly as possible, and most were submitted only very shortly after the given deadline.

This has meant that the subsequent process of getting papers seen by externals and submitted to the Exams Office by early April has been much easier this year; it has been smoother this year than in any other year that I’ve dealt with this process (and I’ve been doing it nearly 6 years now!)

I would especially like to thank Faculty in the Department of Economics for implementing exam paper review committees that took place in January and February, prior to submission of papers to the Programmes Office, as these clearly impacted very positively on us receiving accurate papers on time at the start of March.

Thank you everyone for your input; and here’s to hoping we have just as much success during the exam period itself!
