Calling all runners!

Run for Mums Original Logo

Having a baby should be a time of great joy and hope. But every year across the world 287,000 women die in pregnancy and childbirth. That’s one mother dying every 2 minutes, 800 each day.

The University’s Development Office are asking for your support to help fund critical research on global maternal health that is currently taking place on campus.

Help us reach our fundraising goal of £20,000 by running the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run on Sunday 18 October. This is the cost of implementing a pilot site in either Malawi or Tanzania to help treat maternal sepsis - a vicious infection that can take lives within hours if left untreated.

If you fancy getting your trainers on for ‘Run for Mums’ or for more information on how you can be a part of saving mothers’ lives, please email Clare Weston at C.Weston@bham.ac.uk.
