Important campus information
Throughout June there are a number of exciting events taking place, including the Graduation Ball, the University’s first Proms event and undergraduate open days.
To host such events a great deal of preparation needs to take place which will result in some disruption to the way staff and students navigate around campus. Your co-operation will help the teams involved focus on preparing the campus for these events.
Monday 6 June - Friday 11 June – Graduation Ball and the Proms
The week commencing Monday, June 6 work will begin on campus. The footpath around Chancellors Court and University Square will be closed and a temporary fence erected to secure marquees and staging. Signposting will clearly mark the areas that are closed.
Parking in this area will not be permitted from Monday 6 June until Monday 13 June except for those that have prior permission.
On Thursday 9 June from 5pm band sound checks will be taking place in this area for approximately 45minutes so please expect an increase in noise during this time.
On Friday 10 June work to set up the area for the University’s first Prom event will begin so access restrictions will remain in place.
The footpath around Chancellors Court and University Square can be accessed from Monday, June 13.
Friday 24 June - Saturday 25 June - Undergraduate Open Days
On Friday June 24 the University will host the first of two June open days, enabling thousands of prospective students to visit campus and see first-hand the fantastic opportunities that are available to them.
Due to the increase in the number of vehicles expected on campus there will be increased traffic pressure on parking during this time. To effectively accommodate visitors during this time, North East car park and Pritchatts Park Village car park will be reserved for open day visitors only.
Visitors will be directed to North East, Pritchatts Road and Pritchatts Park Village car parks and a Park and Ride service will be also operating from King Edward’s School playing fields to further relieve congestion and parking problems.
During this time, we ask you to look at alternative options to travel to campus where possible.
