Car parking update

As a result of the development taking place across our estate, there has inevitably been some disruption to car parking on the main Edgbaston campus.  We understand that this has become challenging for staff in recent weeks, particularly those who arrive on campus after 9.00am. As well as the closure of some car parking spaces to accommodate construction work, a number of new spaces have been or are in the process of being created across campus, and Estates have produced an interactive map that shows the latest information about the location of new and temporary car parks as well as the timescales of car parking disruptions to help staff find a space. This is located on the intranet alongside information on the options and incentives available to staff who choose to travel to the University of Birmingham more sustainably.

In the next few weeks a new car park with 90 spaces will open adjacent to South Gate, additional spaces will become available by the new sports pitches, along with a further 40 spaces adjacent to the old Munrow Sports Centre. We will continue to review the availability of spaces and parking policies across campus to help manage this.
