Cost of Living Week

Cost of Living Week

Cost of Living Week launches today, running Monday 6 to Friday 10 November, there are lots of opportunities to find out more and get involved.

Events are taking place across Birmingham, with something for everyone – whether you want to get help and advice, attend a fundraising event, or have your say on how the city’s organisations and communities work together in the future.

The Birmingham City Council initiative follows the successful HelpinBrum campaign, which was set up in 2022 and introduced 243 warm spaces across the city; cash contributions to over 100 food banks and energy bill top-ups to 3,400 households.

You can also celebrate and follow the Cost of Living programme on social media using the hashtag #CostofLivingWeek and tag Birmingham City Council on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

At the University, we have a vast array of benefits available, many of which can help you save money. We have a dedicated staff benefits section on the HR SharePoint site, which is good to keep checking back in as we often add new providers.

We also host an annual Staff Benefits Fair, which attracted 750 staff last year and more than 800 attended this year’s event. The fair is a brilliant opportunity to speak to internal and external benefits providers.

You can also join the Staff Benefits Teams channel to keep on top of all the latest offers and find money saving hints and tips. Please join the conversation!
