Make 'Blue Monday' into 'Brew Monday'

January brings many resolutions and commitments, whether it’s getting into shape, quitting alcohol or other lifestyle changes.

However, following the come down after the festive period, temperatures hitting minus numbers outside and a long stretch until the next bank holiday, this month can be a slump for some, with Monday 15 January marking the supposedly ‘most depressing day of the year’.

In reality, there’s no such thing as ‘Blue Monday’ – as the Samaritans rightly say, we all have our good days and our bad days, and those aren’t for the calendar to decide.

They suggest we say stop this myth about Monday being 'blue' and instead start a conversation over a brew. The charity is encouraging people to take time to talk over a cuppa for Brew Monday 2024
