Writing accessibility statements

It is likely that your app or website will need it’s own accessibility statement.

We must ensure that all of our statements are:

  • Easy to find and understand.
  • Useful, accurate and up-to-date.
  • Reviewed and edited regularly (at least annually).
  • Written in plain English and do not use technical language or jargon.

They should also include information on:

  • How people with access needs can get alternatives.
  • How to report accessibility problems.
  • Which components do not meet accessibility standards and why.
