The P2C Scheme complements the wider Careers Network activities, providing exclusive guidance and opportunities designed to support students from less advantaged backgrounds.
Through the scheme we will provide you with the opportunity to:
- Apply for work experience bursaries and internship opportunities
- Receive support in applying to the Gateway to Work Experience Bursary, which provides financial support for internships and work experience (check eligibility).
- Attend inspirational talks from successful graduates from a diverse background
- Engage with regional employers to solve real-life problems via the Impact Challenge
- Develop your experience through employer-led activities and assessment centre support (including workshops)
Am I eligible to take part in the P2C Scheme?
In order to enrol onto the P2C Scheme, you will need to be a UK student (i.e. not EU or International) from the University of Birmingham who meets one or more of the following criteria:
- In receipt of a standard or alternative A2B (Access to Birmingham) offer
- Registered as disabled / in receipt of Disability Student Allowance
- A care leaver
- First generation of the family into higher education
- From a lower income background i.e. in receipt of a grant or scholarship
- A lone parent (you are a single parent of one or more children)
- From an ethnic minority
