Our accessible self-help guides are short and practical, and available in audio format for easier access. Written by clinical psychologists, get quick advice to help you manage a variety of wellbeing-related issues, such as anxiety, stress, and sleeping problems. Explore our guides.

Pause drop-in support
Pause offers on-campus mental health drop-ins at The Lodge, North Gate, open Monday–Thurdays 11am–5pm in term-time; Tuesday–Wednesday 11am–5pm outside term. No appointment needed, head over a have a chat.
Personalised therapeutic support
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Service offers personalised support from qualified practitioners, providing up to five sessions per academic year to explore the difficulties you may be facing and help you develop effective strategies to overcome them.
New trauma therapy at UoB
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps reduce the impact of traumatic or distressing experiences, and can support students with anxiety, academic pressure, and low self-esteem.
Addiction recovery support
Better Than Well supports students in addiction recovery, offering peer support, social events, and weekly meetings for those maintaining abstinence.
Exercise and nutrition
UBSport Wellness Service offers one-to-one support in exercise, nutrition, and meditation for students experiencing psychological difficulties. Open to all, it promotes a mindful, balanced approach to wellbeing.
