Have you completed your consent course yet?

We all deserve to feel safe, respected and supported at university, and understanding consent is a huge part of making that happen. That’s why completing your consent course matters.

What your course covers

Your consent course helps you to understand consent, recognise when something isn’t right, and know how to respond if you or someone else needs support. You’ll also learn how to communicate in ways that build respectful, healthy relationships.

Where to find your consent course

You can complete the consent course on Canvas.

  • Undergraduate students will find Consent Matters in your Student Support & Development Hub.
  • Postgraduate Taught students will find Lead the Change in your Student Support & Development Hub.
  • Postgraduate Researchers will find Lead the Change in your Postgraduate Research Support & Development Hub.

Report + Support

If you’ve been subjected to harassment or any other form of harmful behaviour, Report + Support is here to help.

The website has lots of information on different types of harmful behaviour and where to find relevant support. You can meet with a highly experienced, trained responder who’ll listen and talk you through your options, or you can submit an anonymous report if you’d prefer.

Find more information and help on harassment and sexual misconduct.

Mental health support

Conversations around consent and harmful behaviour can bring up difficult emotions. If you need to talk to someone, there are plenty of options at UoB:

  • UB Heard is our 24/7 confidential listening and support phoneline
  • At Pause, you can drop in for emotional support and advice
  • You can register for therapeutic support (online or in-person) with our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team
  • Every College has designated Wellbeing Officers that you go to for practical and emotional support
