A great Birmingham Christmas

Christmas is coming to The Vale Village! Celebrate the festive season with others staying in halls over the holidays with a special Christmas lunch and a hamperful of treats.

All students in our accommodation are welcome to join in the festive fun. This is a chance for you to meet new friends and toast to the season with your extended student community, so don't be shy. Whether you live in the city centre or on campus, it's time to make this December merry and bright.

Christmas lunch

Join your friends for a traditional Christmas lunch, complete with crackers and festive songs, on 18 December (1pm – 3pm) at Vale Infusion.

Look forward to roast turkey with all the veggies, plus Christmas pud with lashings of brandy sauce. There will be a gorgeous winter warmer soup to start too. Plant-based options are available. Check out the full menu below.

Enjoy three courses for £15 or £13.50 if you’re a Student Living Plus resident.

Christmas Eve hamper 

You can continue the celebrations with our festive foodie hamper. Each hamper costs £24 – or £21.60 if you’re a Student Living Plus resident – and contains:

  • Festive cakes and snacks
  • Cupboard essentials to keep your kitchen stocked up for the holidays
  • Ready-prepared meals for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day

Vegetarian, vegan, and non-gluten-containing ingredients hampers are available on request. 

Christmas is a time of giving, so why not treat yourself and share your goodies with your friends and flatmates? 

Hampers will be available for collection from Shackleton Lounge on 24 December (1pm – 3pm) only.

Starter

Spiced butternut squash soup, toasted seeds, herb oil (VE, NGCI)

Main

Roast turkey breast, herb roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, crispy Brussel sprouts, roasted parsnip and carrots, sage and onion stuffing, rich turkey gravy (NGCI without stuffing)

Roasted vegetable roulade, herb roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, crispy Brussel sprouts, roasted parsnip and carrots, sage and onion stuffing, rich gravy (VE, NGCI without stuffing)

Dessert

Classic Christmas pudding, brandy sauce (V)

Chocolate mousse, dark cherry compote, chocolate fudge sauce (VE, NGCI)

Although we have excellent food hygiene standards and keep food containing allergens away from non-allergenic food, our kitchens are not completely allergen-free environments.
