Time to thrive

Your accommodation is so much more than a place to rest your head. It’s a place for you to meet new people, try new things, and get as much from student life as possible.

It’s time to live student life to the max. It’s time to thrive

We work with the Guild of Students and UB Sport to bring the following Residence Life services to your village, all for free. You can make the most of it all regardless of whether you live on campus or with one of our accommodation partners – because every student deserves the best experience.

Active Residences

Our Active Residences team is here to help you get that serotonin flowing! Make the most of free fitness classes and sports activities in your halls and across campus every week. From relaxing yoga and Pilates to rounders and HIIT, there’s something for everyone.

Book your next session online or through the UB Sport & Fitness App. Download it for free from Google Play or Apple Store today.

In-hall events and activities

How does a pizza party sound? What about a colour run or an outdoor cinema?

These are examples of just some of the events you can enjoy in your halls thanks to our Event Activators. Designed by students for students, every event has been designed to bring your village community together, giving you a chance to unwind and socialise. Make sure you follow your village on Instagram to stay in the know.

Peer support

Everyone needs a little bit of help from time to time. Whether you want a friendly chat or advice on studying, wellbeing, finances, or housing, our Wellbeing Ambassadors will support you every step of the way.

They also hosts free events throughout the year, including regular Wellbeing Cafés where you can relax with craft activities, enjoy a free hot drink, and have a cuddle with a Pets as Therapy dog.

You can call an ambassador on 0121 415 8568, email them through the link below, or drop-by the team's office in Shackleton (The Vale Village), which is open Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm, during term time. You'll find it next to the Duck & Scholar.

Whoever you are, wherever you’re from, we want to know how you came to live with us in Brum and what you love most about your student experience – both in and out of accommodation. As a thank you, you’ll receive a £10 voucher to spend on campus.
