College of Arts and Law (CAL) Wellbeing Officers

Each School within the College of Arts and Law has at least one dedicated Wellbeing Officer. Wellbeing Officers are trained professionals able to provide support, advice and guidance to students across a range of academic and wellbeing challenges that could prevent you from engaging with your studies, and university life as a whole.

We can support you with extensions to assessed work deadlines, advise on disability provision and reasonable adjustments, and also the wider extenuating circumstances process. We can also talk through a range of issues or problems that may be causing you difficulties, and can help signpost you to access the wider support that is available both on and beyond campus.

Wellbeing Officers are available every day of the week via a range of different media (face to face, telephone, zoom or text chat) in order to ensure you receive a timely response and that the service is as accessible as possible.

For further information, including access to forms and a vast array of self-help resources, please visit the College of Arts and Law Wellbeing Services CANVAS page to which you will all have been auto-enrolled.  To request an appointment, please use the bookings system linked on your home School pages

Postgraduate Research (PGR)

Postgraduate research students should, in the first instance, contact their home School for Wellbeing Support, advice and guidance where they can receive all of the same levels of support as any student within the College.  Where necessary, your School Wellbeing Officer may refer you to another colleague for more specialist advice.

Appointment times are available across the working week and you will be able to choose a day, time, and method of contact which suits you best
