As Careers Consultant I manage the College Careers Team, acting as a liaison between Careers Network and senior staff within the College, ensuring we have the space and resources to provide high quality careers guidance and opportunities to students.
I support students and graduates in developing career strategies through individual one to one appointments and group work. I support students in generating career ideas by assessing their options, interests, abilities and skills and advising on how to explore opportunities for graduate employment, further study and training.
Currently on maternity leave - As an Internship Officer, I support students and graduates in finding relevant and valuable work experience to help them reach their career goal. I also work very closely with employers both in the UK and overseas to help them develop and advertise their opportunities to students from the university.
I also support students and graduates in finding relevant and valuable work experience to help them reach their career goal.
I source and promote in-curriculum work experience opportunities for CoSS students taking the Professional Development Module.
I support the delivery of the Professional Development Module for final-year undergraduates in the College of Social Sciences. I support students in finding and applying to internal and external opportunities. I also provide 1-1 support for the Self Reflective Journal assignment in addition to creating and delivering workshops and lectures on skills development and self-reflective writing.
I am the first port of call for students, staff and employers enquiring about the Professional Development module. I manage the administrative processes for module registration, engagement with employers, placement applications, risk assessments, assignment marking and examination boards.
