My name's Ben Reynolds and I’m one of the founders of a lighting company called Carousel Lights.
Hello I'm Nick Raka from Siemens.
I'm Marianne Daniels and I studied Mechanical Engineering Manufacture and Management when i was at Birmingham University.

(Jodie) ..and these wonderful people are here to tell you why you should enter the Engineers in Business Competition.

My name's Ben Reynolds and I’m one of the founders of a lighting company called Carousel Lights. I'm also a previous winner of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards as well as being a judge for those awards as well as the UK Startup awards, but just as importantly as that I’m alumni of the University of Birmingham having graduated with a master's degree in mechanical engineering. What I didn't appreciate when I was studying for my degree was the skills that I would learn would take me on into the entrepreneurial world such as collaboration resilience how to work as part of a team and how to be enterprising and looking at a problem I highly recommend entering the Engineers and Business Awards it's a great opportunity to put yourself out there to put your business out there and you never know you could go on and win a great prize good luck.

Hello I'm Nick Raka from Siemens. Business is a great way to really encourage engineers to think like entrepreneurs it helps students to think beyond the technology and how that technology can really help people and benefit society as a whole encouraging students to think about the commercial aspects that cost the investment needed and the time to launch before this product becomes financially viable and can really help in this regard.

We offer Solid Edge 3D CAD for our engineers to design and manufacture products software includes mechanical electrical electronic simulation and cloud collaboration they're free for students and for teaching staff for academic use a business that's gone from a technology idea to a viable product with dyson is initially starting with siemens 3D CAD software as a startup and had huge commercial success to become a global brand so good luck to all engineers and entrepreneurs entering this competition I'm Marianne Daniels and I studied Mechanical Engineering Manufacture and Management when I was at Birmingham university after graduation I joined the automotive industry working for rover ford and then Jaguar Land Rover where i'm now a senior purchasing manager.  Competitions like this i think are fantastic for both your career and the automotive or engineering industry they help you to showcase your ideas you can demonstrate your passion for engineering and they really encourage innovation both innovation and entrepreneurialism are massively important at Jaguar Land Rover we invest heavily in it ourselves and the key attributes that we look for in our employees and our supply partners my advice would be go for it best of luck.
