What is the Introduction to Teaching and Supporting Learning (ITSL) Module?

It is a non-credit bearing induction module, designed to develop your confidence in teaching and supporting learning at the University of Birmingham. It is practical in focus and, throughout, you will be encouraged to reflect on your own professional development and the ways in which you can develop your skills and competencies in order to enhance the learning experience of our students. This module acts as an important foundation for the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE).

The intention is to bring together people from a range of subject backgrounds in a collegial setting to explore key principles, practice and values associated with teaching and supporting learning in higher education.
