Assumptions are slippery little things that usually can’t be seen clearly by an act of self‐will. One particular metaphor comes to mind whenever I think of someone trying to uncover their assumptions by deep introspective analysis and that’s being in a clothing store. When you’re out on the floor trying on your new jacket you have only one mirror view— the front on view you see every day. But step into a changing room with side mirrors and suddenly you see how you look from multiple perspectives.
