Taking your research degree beyond academia: for humanities and social sciences PGRs

Whilst postgraduate research in the sciences can sometimes have clearer applications to industry, career routes beyond academia for PGRs in the humanities and social sciences can often seem less 'obvious.' How can our skills map across to jobs in other sectors? How can we 'sell' ourselves to employers beyond the academic sphere? And how might we feel about leaving the academic environment for a different kind of working set-up? This webinar is a chance to hear from a panel of former postgraduate researchers about how they navigated these issues and moved into a range of career sectors.

• Identify top tips and skills that you need to explore your career options and job hunt effectively in sectors beyond academia
• Apply advice from alumni to your own career research and job hunting
• Make some alumni contacts who have transitioned into different sectors
• Ask any questions to our alumni panellists
