Car Parking Disruptions

The University of Birmingham's Edgbaston campus is currently undergoing one of the most exciting redevelopments since 1909, which will see a £606 million capital masterplan transform our University between now and 2021.

As a result of these transformational developments, there will inevitably be some disruption to car parking spaces on the main Edgbaston campus. However, it is a condition of the planning approval, for all new developments on campus, that the number of car parking spaces are maintained throughout the programme of works.

Please find below more information about the timescale of car parking disruptions and the location of new and temporary car parks.

During this time of disruption you may need to consider alternative forms of transport to travel to the university.  The link below provides information on the options and incentives available to you as a member of staff to travel to the University of Birmingham more sustainably.

New Multi-Storey Car Park

Plans are currently underway to reinstate a more efficient multi-storey car parking provision of approximately 490 spaces to replace surface-level parking lost due to new projects. This will be located on the west side of campus in a location that is conducive to the overall sense of arrival and in a reasonable walking distance to the campus centre.
