Sponsorship for tuition fees

A sponsor is a company or organisation that has agreed to pay some, or all, of your fees.

If you’re receiving funding from a sponsor, including the NHS, you need to enter your sponsor information in the Financial Sponsor section of Online Registration.

Forward your financial guarantees, or any sponsor amendments, by email to sdm@contacts.bham.ac.uk

  • If you declare a financial sponsor, you will still receive an initial invoice for your full tuition fee value addressed to you.

  • Once the University has processed your sponsor details, you will receive a credit note and we will invoice your Sponsor directly.

  • You will not receive an updated invoice after your funding has been applied.

If your sponsor funding is not for the full amount of your fee, you need to pay any remaining balance of the invoice.

What doesn't count as sponsorship?

  • If your fees are being paid by the University, your School or department, this is regarded as a scholarship. Visit Scholarships and stipends for more information.
  • If a parent, relative or another individual is paying your fees, they are not counted as a sponsor. You don’t need to provide their details, and you’ll still be regarded as self-funded. They can pay your fees here.

Information for sponsor organisations

If you are from a sponsor organisation and need to pay a tuition fee on behalf of one of our students, please visit our Payment Portal to pay by credit card, debit card, or bank transfer.

You will need the invoice number, and your customer account number. You'll find this at the top right of your invoice.
