We are here to support you

It is really important to us that you feel supported throughout your time at the University. Over the winter period we often see a rise in demand for our Student Support services, so we have made some changes to our service, to ensure we can see and support as many people as possible before the Christmas vacation.

We are also offering an increased number of drop-in sessions, which are available every day, Monday to Friday, for you to access the services that you need. No need to fill in a form, make a call, or send an email.

At our drop-in sessions you can meet with our trained staff to discuss any emotional and personal concerns you may have, and decide what support will be most useful for you. At these sessions, our staff will ensure that you are given immediate practical advice and support and/or are assessed to gain further more in-depth support from our wide range of services which may include services such as Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing teams.

There are also a number of other support services available at the University and in the local area. Your Welfare Tutor in your School can provide practical support for you if you are experiencing personal problems that interfere with your academic work. This includes helping you to apply for Extenuating Circumstance.

Please visit our Accessing our Services intranet page to find out more.

If you are experiencing any difficulties please do not hesitate to contact us - we are here to support you!
