Advice for students and staff on the Zika virus

The University's Medical Officer has issued advice for students and staff in light of the recent Zika virus outbreak.

At present, the University Medical Officer’s view is that those wishing to travel to at-risk areas should go ahead with their plans with the exception of pregnant women or those who are planning a pregnancy.

The advice outlines other circumstances in which your doctor should be consulted before travelling - and what to do if you have recently travelled to an area where Zika is prevalent.

The advice links to up-to-date health information from NHS Choices and Public Health England, as well as the latest travel advice for international travel from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office.
