CoSS innovative idea competition
Aleem Salim Minsariya - Aleem's idea Identified the difficulty in accessing diagnosis and treatment of some conditions and diseases during the pandemic, and outlined a proposal for a global online network of doctors and consultants to allow patients the flexibility and opportunity to consult physicians outside of their local area.
Gloria Nwator and Adam Halls - Identified a crisis of loneliness as a result of extended lockdowns and proposed an audio friendship app which allows users to set up profiles and accept or reject requests from other users. ‘Matched’ friends would then be able to converse through the app with accompanying prompts for questions and discussion.
Arushi Madan and Aerica Singla - the duo Identified a rise in fake job listings throughout the pandemic and have designed an app that distinguishes between false and legitimate adverts. The app would also provide space for jobseekers to discuss with others in their area about upcoming opportunities.
EPS E-gaming tournament
Over the four days, with the help of the ESport society members, 383 games were played by 50 students over 24 hours in total.

MDS Public Health competition
The winning entry was Grace Long for her video on use of the ‘Umbrella’ Health Service for addressing the stigma about testing and support for STIs.
