It doesn’t matter how state-of-the-art a space is, if it’s not clean, it’s not a place where you want to be. That’s where we come in. Our team works 24/7, 365 days a year, to ensure every building on campus is maintained to a high standard, so you can have the best experience possible.
Day-to-day cleaning
Spaces across campus are dusted and shared and private officers cleaned every week. Please note that we’ll only clean your desk if it’s clear of personal belongings and equipment, and we don’t empty personal bins.
Washrooms; teaching and learning spaces; entrances, foyers, and circulation spaces; and kitchen and tea stations (not including crockery and utensils) are cleaned weekly (Monday – Friday).
Specialised teaching spaces and laboratories have tailored cleaning agreements, depending on the services required.
Deep and specialised cleaning
We deep clean spaces over the University holidays, or at a time requested by individual building managers. This includes everything from carpet cleaning and hard floor scrubbing to specialist high dusting. Whatever you need, we’ll sort it.
Window cleaning
All internal and external windows are cleaned once a year by our chosen contractor. If you need additional window cleaning throughout the year, please get in touch and we can send a quote over to you for the work, which will be payable by your department. Please contact recycling@contacts.bham.ac.uk for further information.
Need additional services?
Get in touch with us to arrange:

- increased frequency cleaning (e.g., daily office cleans)

- cleaning following an office move or refurbishment
These services will be charged to your department; we’ll let you know the cost once we’ve received your request.
Please note that we do not provide individual waste bins, paper towels, screen or desk wipes, washing up liquid, or centrefeed roll (blue roll) for office use.
