Procuring goods and services as ethically as possible means minimising any negative environmental, social or economic impacts at the same time as taking opportunities to enhance our contribution to society and the economy through the things we buy.
We call this Sustainable Procurement; other universities may call it Ethical Procurement or even Responsible Procurement.
The most important thing is that we consider the environmental, social and economic considerations of everything we purchase, every time we purchase – we consider this simply part of excellent procurement.
These pages will tell you more about our commitment to Sustainable Procurement and how we put it into practice.
We link also with other Midlands Universities as part of our collective commitment to sustainable procurement.
