- This session covered various issues relating to the attraction and supervision of postgraduate research students. it looked at the changing funding environment for PGRs and the opportunities they provide (this included loans for PGRs, the new Midlands DTP, and a recent University Executive Board paper on the subject). They also considered the ways the University and College propose to attract and admit PGR students, and the ways in which colleagues can support that. Finally they covered issues related to good practice in PGR supervision (e.g. ethics reviews, development needs assessment, progress reporting).
