Pause drop-in sessions

Welcome to Pause@uni

Pause@uni is a place for all students, whether undergraduate or postgraduate, where you can talk about anything that may be worrying you. We are a friendly team of trained and experienced workers, and are here to offer a listening ear, and share support and advice if needed. We offer "brief intervention" which means we help you make sense of any issues you wish to speak about, and help you navigate other support services if you feel it may help you.

Pause@Uni is open throughout the year, including all of the University vacations.

Pause drop-in sessions

You are welcome to visit us in the Wellbeing Lodge for a one-to-one session. You do not need to make an appointment, just drop in to see us. (You'll find us right by North Gate, opposite the Community Safety Hub.)

Drop-in opening hours

  • During teaching time: every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 11:00 - 17:00
  • Outside of teaching time: every Tuesday and Wednesday 11:00 - 17:00

Weekly groups and social sessions

Alongside drop-ins, you can also attend one of our free, weekly Crafternoons or Comfort Zone sessions. Throughout the year, we also host pop-ups, which will be featured on the University's What's On? pages. Make sure to check your inbox for the Brum Bulletin, which will feature pop-up announcements too.

Crafternoons

Crafternoons are relaxed, crafting sessions designed to help you unwind and connect with others in a welcoming, shared space. All materials are provided – just bring yourself and enjoy some time to create, chat, and recharge.

  • Where? Library Lounge, Main Library
  • When? Every Wednesday, 13:00 - 16:00

Comfort Zone

This laid-back session invites you to grab a drink and a snack, connect with fellow students, and (weather permitting!) enjoy some time in the garden. Whether you're in the mood to chat, get creative, or simply sit quietly, it's a space to unwind in whatever way feels right for you.

  • Where? Wellbeing Lodge, North Gate
  • When? Every Thursday, 14:00 - 15:30

Open House

Every Wednesday between 10:00 - 11:00, we have an open house. Come and meet the team, see around the Wellbeing Lodge and garden, and ask any questions you may have. Have a cup of tea and a biscuit with us. We do not run sessions during this time.

Come and visit us to find out what we do.
