University Graduate School Events

The University is committed to supporting and creating a vibrant postgraduate community where each postgraduate can access valuable opportunities to meet with fellow postgraduates, develop transferable skills and gain careers support. As part of this commitment, we offer a variety of academic, social and wellbeing activities throughout the year. Annual opportunities to develop skills and share your work are delivered by the University Graduate School. These include UGS Talks, the Postgraduate Research Festival (including the Research Poster Conference), the Three Minute Thesis competition, and the Images of Research competition for postgraduate researchers and Images of Study competition and PGT Essentials for postgraduate taught students.

View our events listing below to see events tailored for postgraduates. We offer a mixture of online and in-person events. Events marked as PG are open to all postgraduates at the University of Birmingham, whilst those marked as PGR are tailored to Postgraduate Researchers and those marked as PGT are tailored to Postgraduate Taught students.
