Disability drop-ins

Due to Covid-19, face to face disability drop in advice sessions are currently suspended.

The Student Disability Service team are instead offering short 10 minute remote advice and signposting appointments via either Zoom or telephone for those students who have queries that cannot be resolved via email or other means.

You may be able to find an answer to general queries by searching our knowledge base. If you feel your query can be resolved via email please continue to either contact your named advisor (if you have one) or email disability@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

Advice and signposting appointments with a specialist disability advisor can be booked on a first come first basis by emailing disability@contacts.bham.ac.uk. If you request an appointment and it is noticed that you have been allocated to an advisor, please be aware that your query may instead be passed to the advisor who will contact you instead.

A limited number of 10 minute advice and signposting appointment slots will be available on the following days/times:

  • Wednesday 10:00 - 12:00 (Mental Health/Austism Spectrum drop ins)
  • Wednesday 12:30 - 14:00 (Specific Learning Difficulties drop ins)
  • Thursday 14:00 - 16:00 (Physical/sensory impairments and long trem health conditions drop ins)

These appointments are only for advice and signposting and we are unfortunately not able to write reasonable adjustments plans for students during these short appointments.

If you have any emotional or personal concerns, or are concerned about the welfare of a friend, please see Health, welfare & wellbeing support
