Manufacturing Judging Day

Description
The Manufacturer Awards, organised by the Manufacturer Magazine, is the biggest award ceremony in the sector, with attendance numbers continuing to grow year on year. Facilitated by the Business Engagement Team, the University of Birmingham has strong links with the magazine, and this year we hosted the 'Judging Day'. With 12 categories, 60 companies, over 120 delegates and 30 judges, a huge business audience descended onto campus to compete for an award.

International Collaborative Team, including Birmingham Scientist John S. Fossey, Awarded Daiwa Adrian Prize

Description
A the team of six scientist led by Professor Tony D. James from the University of Bath and Professor Seiji Shinkai from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan including Steven D Bull (Bath), John S. Fossey (Birmingham), Kazuo Sakurai (Kitakyushu) and Yuji Kubo (TMU) have won a Daiwa Adrian Prize, awarded every three years by The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation in recognition of "significant scientific collaboration between Japanese and British research teams".

Doctoral Researcher Navdeep-Singh Kahlon wins IEAGHG Summer School 2013 Most Outstanding Student Award

Description
Navdeep-Singh Kahlon, an Engineering Doctoral Researcher in the field of Efficient Fossil Energy Technologies, received the 'Most Outstanding Student' award and 'Member of the Best Group Presentation' at the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Summer School, held in the National College for Teaching and Leadership and the University of Nottingham from the 21st – 26th July.

Osaka University team make great use of University facilities
