aleisha-talbotAleisha Talbot

School of Psychology

Aleisha made an exceptional impact in the role and attended pre Learning & Teaching Committee briefings with the Undergraduate Head of Education to ensure she was well-prepared for meetings. She was incredibly assertive, using a solution-based approach at meetings to ensure student feedback was responded to well. Aleisha had undertaken significant research with the student body to ensure the views put forward at Learning & Teaching committee were truly evidence-based.

“I never expected to win the award and even being nominated gave me a real boost. I care about my School and my department and it was lovely to have the time and effort I had put in recognised, (it's not always easy to stand up to lecturers and members of staff on behalf of the students!). I also came close to winning an award from The Guild of Students and I believe my winning School Rep played a large part in this. Finally, because I was nominated I received a mug, which sounds a tad silly but it's something I can look at with pride in the years after I have left the University!”
