Noureen Lakhani
School of Psychology
Noureen was able to effectively put the feedback of her cohorts forward to staff to effect significant change. She kept her cohort of students regularly updated with developments so the student body always knew how student feedback was being responded to by the School. She was well-known amongst her peers as being very approachable with many students feeling that they could easily come to her with any problems. Furthermore, the hard work and dedication she continued to put in to her role as Student Rep is still commended by students and staff alike.
“I was truly honoured to be nominated and win the First Year Rep of the Year Award. I never chose to be a Rep to gain any recognition, but this just shows how much people appreciate all the hard work that goes into being a Rep. It really made me feel proud of all that I had achieved over the year, and to see the great support from the Psychology Department as I got up to collect my award is one feeling I'll never forget. I realised that writing a nomination may feel like it won't go anywhere, but the person receiving it feels overwhelmed and is so grateful for the support.”
