Natasha Cassidy
School of Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation Sciences
Impressively, Natasha won two awards last year, and to say they were well deserved would be an understatement. Her success in both categories was due to the advice and guidance she gave to both students and staff in SSC meetings as Chair and her ability as a Student Rep to build excellent relationships between both parties. Natasha diligently managed the feedback of her cohorts and proved to be an invaluable asset to her SSC.
“The Student Rep System appealed to me as I saw it as a good opportunity to improve my personal and interpersonal skills, as well as work with other students and staff. I was a Student Rep in years 1 and 2 and I also stood for Student Chair in year 2. Performing these roles has improved my confidence with public speaking, taught me skills in delegating and leading a meeting and reinforced my team work and communication skills. Winning awards for both Second Year Rep of the Year and Chair of the Year was an incredible feeling and a great reward after working hard to perform well at my roles. I am very grateful that I can add these awards to my CV, as I think the experience of being a Rep and Chair will be beneficial in my future as a physiotherapist.”
