Extra-curricular

Extra-curricular activities are a great way to enhance your employability.

When looking for a job, you need to have more on your CV than just your academic achievement. There are many different ways to build and recognise your skills, knowledge and experience.

Getting involved in societies, part-time work, volunteering and mentoring are great ways to meet new people, enjoy your time at university and ensure you strike a healthy balance between studying and your social life.

If you are ready to commit to something a little more in-depth, you could apply to the PG Future Leaders Certificate, UG Birmingham Award or even start your own business. There is something for everyone.

Nominate yourself for the BBS Student Impact Awards to recognise and celebrate your extra-curricular achievements, as a great addition to your CV, with a chance to win up to £500.

Whichever extra-curricular activities you choose, don't forget to include the details of the skills and knowledge you've gained when you apply for jobs. It could make all the difference.
