Career planning courses and information

We have two courses on Canvas to help you with your career planning:

Mastering Your Career Planning

An 8-week course run on specific dates during the Masters year. It provides guided online learning and peer collaboration.

Career Action Planning for Masters Students (CAPMS)

If you prefer an entirely self-access option join the Career Action Planning for Masters Students (CAPMS) course to help you to prepare for the next step after your Masters, and to make the most of your Masters year.

The topics covered will help you to create your personal career action plan and to consider your employment and further study options.

In addition to our two Canvas courses above, we have more resources to help in your career planning below:

Face to face advice

  • For face to face careers advice, you can book an appointment to speak to an adviser on our Advice Desk service.
  • Attend a Careers Network Career Planning workshop.
  • It is also a good idea to talk to your tutors or other academics if you are considering a PhD.
