- Dr Danielle Beswick, the University of Birmingham's Rwanda expert, joined the International Development Department (IDD) in the School of Government and Society as a lecturer in 2008. Her research investigates how states such as Rwanda and Sri Lanka rebuild political identity after conflict and the strategies developing states use to increase their agency in relationships with aid donors. We met with the rugby and cricket enthusiast to find out more about her past, her research and what her interest are outside of work.

- The MSc team deals with the daily running and coordination of postgraduate taught programmes across the Business school, which comprises of the departments of Accounting and Finance, Management, Marketing and Economics. Our work stretches from enrolment to graduation with everything in between, including events, assessments, timetabling, trips and also dealing with any queries from academic staff and students regarding all aspects of the programmes.

- The tunnels that route through Birmingham city centre are to be closed for 6 weeks over the summer period for essential refurbishment.The St Chad's and Queensway tunnels will be completely closed to all traffic from 19 July to 2 September 2013. The closure will be preceded by four weeks of overnight closures, from 10pm to 6am, and followed by up to two weeks of similar overnight closures.
