Careers Advice for Postgraduate Researchers

There are many reasons why talking one-to-one with a careers adviser can be useful. It could be that you don't yet have a career plan and are looking for some direction. On the other hand, you might have some career ideas in mind but are uncertain about which next steps to take; or, you may be ready to apply for jobs and are looking for some help with your applications or interviews.

Whatever stage you're at, as a current Postgraduate Researcher you have a range of options available to you for one-to-one support and advice.

If you have questions about career issues, options or job applications that are more specific to Postgraduate Researchers, you can contact our PGR Careers Adviser to arrange a meeting. These meeting slots are flexible and can be arranged at a time that suits you (during normal working hours Monday - Friday). If you can't make it onto campus in person, get in touch to discuss other options including meetings via telephone.

These meetings range from general advice and guidance to CV and application advice and practice interviews. Having booked a meeting, please ensure that you arrive on time; if you are more than 5 minutes late you may need to rebook.
